When I first trained in fine art photography, I learned the ancient art of film and darkroom developing. Fast forward to the present and I am deftly navigating apps, pixels, and digital photo manipulation! Despite the changes in the medium, some things have remained the same.
I am still as passionate about my art as I ever was. Every shot I take is a moment in time shared between photographer and sitter. Being a Portrait Photographer is a privilege; a chance for people to invite me into their world for a moment to share their lives.
I was born and grew up in Scotland, but I now reside in Indianapolis with my husband, daughter, and four dogs. I love being a part of this community and actively volunteer with a pet therapy group. When Im not taking pictures, I enjoy spending time with my family, participating in a variety of dog sports, and camping in the rain!

Light makes photography. Embrace light. Admire it. Love it. But above all, know light. Know it for all you are worth, and you will know the key to photography.

It's marvellous, marvellous! Nothing will ever be as much fun. I'm going to photograph everything, everything!
Jacques-Henri Lartigue
So many people dislike themselves so thoroughly that they never see any reproduction of themselves that suits. None of us is born with the right face. Its a tough job being a portrait photographer.
A portrait photographer depends upon another person to complete his picture. The subject imagined, which in a sense is me, must be discovered in someone else willing to take part in a fiction he cannot possibly know about.
